Pricing Information

Under the Transparency Rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, law firms must publish “cost information” on their website in relation to the following legal services.

1 . The services in relation to individuals are (Rule 1.3):

(a) Residential conveyancing: The conveyance of residential real property or real estate which comprise: (i) freehold or leasehold sales or purchases; or (ii) mortgages or re-mortgages.
(b) Administration of an estate: The collection and distribution of assets belonging to a person following their death, where these are within the UK and the matters are not contested.
(c) Immigration: The preparation and submission of immigration applications, excluding asylum applications.
(d) Immigration: The provision of advice and representation at the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in relation to appeals against Home Office visa or immigration decisions, excluding asylum appeals.
(e) Motoring offences: The provision of advice and representation at the Magistrates Court in relation to summary only road traffic offences dealt with at a single hearing.
(f) Employment Tribunal: The provision of advice and representation to employees in relation to the bringing of claims before the Employment Tribunal against an employer for unfair dismissal or wrongful dismissal.

2. The services in relation to businesses are (Rule 1.4):

(a) Employment Tribunal: The provision of advice and representation to employers in relation to defending claims before the Employment Tribunal brought by an employee for unfair dismissal or wrongful dismissal.
(b) Debt recovery: Debt recovery up to the value of £100,000.
(c) Licensing applications: The provision of advice and assistance and representation in relation to licensing.

Beven Legal does not practice in any of the above areas other than 2(b), debt recovery, but only insofar as it provides contract and other commercial advice which may relate to the recovery of money. Beven Legal does not accept instructions to appear as solicitor on the record in respect of any litigation.

For contract and commercial advisory services touching upon debt recovery (paragraph 2(b) above), Beven Legal will customarily charge on an hourly basis at the rate of £100 to £300 per hour excluding VAT (or £120 to £360 per hour including VAT), depending on the complexity, urgency and volume of work involved.

Fees may be fixed for stages of a matter on agreement with the client, based upon the estimated number of hours for such stage plus contingency. The level of such fixed fees will be issue/matter-dependant. Beven Legal does not accept conditional fee instructions.

Disbursements (out-of-pocket expenses) such as couriers and search fees are charged in addition at cost, together with VAT on disbursements if applicable.
